Networking
Firewalls, switching, wi-fi, VPNs and connectivity between sites. Designed, fixed, or simply documented.
Networks tend to get attention only when they break. Firewall rules accumulate, wi-fi coverage degrades as the office changes shape, and often nobody has mapped the thing in years.
I acted as technical lead on a full network rebuild across three sites, moving off a mix of Sophos, Aruba and Ruckus onto a single Cisco Meraki environment, and added monitoring where there had been none.
What this covers
- Network design and rebuild across one site or several
- Firewall configuration, review and rule tidying
- Wi-fi surveys and deployment that actually covers the building
- Site-to-site VPN and remote access
- SD-WAN and multi-site consolidation onto one managed platform
- Monitoring so outages are flagged before users report them
- Documentation of what you have, which is often the missing piece
When this is the right fit
Wi-fi drops in half the building, your firewall rules have grown organically for years, you are opening a new site, or nobody can tell you how the network is actually laid out.
What it costs
£1,500 – £5,000 — per site.
That is a guide range, not a quote. You get a fixed price after a free 30-minute scoping call, and it does not move afterwards. I am not VAT registered, so there is no 20% to add on top. Full guide prices for every service are published openly.
How it works
A free 30-minute conversation first, so I understand the situation and you can judge whether I am the right person. Then a clear scope and a fixed quote or an hourly rate, agreed before anything starts. Work delivered, documented, and handed over.
Response times: within 2 hours during working hours, and never more than 24 hours.
